Timberland

Timberland ranges from natural native forests to replanted trees with improved genetics. Modern timber production trends are moving toward high density, intensive plantation style regimes (or strategies) for saw timber and pulpwood.

Plantation timberlands employ superior genetics, fertilization, and competitive vegetation suppression. As a new stand of trees matures, some of the trees are removed to increase yield and improve product quality by allowing more sunlight through the vegetative canopy.
